On March 26, 2009, Alpha Media Group announced that it was closing Blender magazine. The periodical, which began in 1994 as the first digital CD-ROM magazine, specialized in music reviews and employed thirty people. AMG will be reducing its portfolio of titles to Maxim alone. The April 2009 edition of Blender will mark the final issue.
